Anti-wrinkle Treatment

What is it?

Anti-wrinkle treatment is a quick and minimally invasive way to reduce wrinkles and the effects of ageing on your skin. Anti-wrinkle treatment is very safe and only uses a small amount of product. Treatments have been used for more than 20 years.

How does it work?

Anti-wrinkle treatment is a muscle relaxant that temporarily reduces muscle activity. These muscles can cause the formation of frown lines, crow’s feet and other wrinkles on your face.

What areas can be treated?

  • Vertical frown lines between eyebrows

  • Horizontal worry lines on forehead

  • Crow’s feet

  • Bunny lines on the nose

  • Chin dimpling

  • Eyebrow reshaping

  • Lift to upper face, lower face and corners of the mouth

What does treatment involve?

Anti-wrinkle treatment is performed using injections with fine needles into the skin to the target muscles.

Anaesthetic cream can be used for your comfort.

Frequently Asked Questions:

What happens after treatment and how long will the results last?

The injections will start to work from day 3 onward and are usually fully established within 7 – 10 days. The effects usually wear off after 3 – 4 months.

What should I do after treatment?

The following should be avoided for 24 hours:

  • Strenuous exercise

  • Consumption of alcoholic beverages

  • Extended exposure to sun or heat

  • Massage or vigorous rubbing to the treatment area

Please stay upright for four (4) hours after treatment.

Are there any side effects from anti-wrinkle injections?

Side effects and complications are usually minimal. Occasionally headache, slight swelling and bruising may occur after injection.

An adjacent muscle may be weakened after an injection which may cause a temporary relaxation of a nearby area. This can be avoided by careful assessment, planning and injecting.

Temporary double vision can occur in less than 1% of patients.
